31st Annual Grief and Bereavement Seminar

  • 10/23/2014
  • 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Birmingham, AL
This workshop will help participants explore the function that grief symptoms (depression, anxiety, protest, loss of control) play in the life of the mourner. Participants will learn how to be responsive without feeling the need to eradicate symptoms quickly and efficiently. You will be reminded that the losses of life are not "fixable," and that strategies anchored in "solution" or "resolution" are inappropriate and often forms of secondary victimization of the mourner. Join us and learn more about the art of "companioning" versus "treating" the mourner.
