  • San Francisco, CA

Roshi Joan Halifax is a Zen Buddhist Priest,

anthropologist, civil rights activist, hospice caregiver,

and the author of Being with Dying: Cultivating

Compassion and Fearlessness in the Presence of

Death. In this workshop, Halifax shares key lessons

from her decades of work with the dying and their

caregivers. Drawing from traditional Buddhist

teachings, she talks about what it means to die, and

what loved ones can do to ease the process. What

are the most pressing emotional and spiritual needs of

people in the final stages of life? What becomes most

important to someone who is dying?

6 BBS/RN CEs available for workshop (MFT, LCSW,

RN)

How do we remain present with people who are

dying? How do we give them the care and attention

that they need while also caring for ourselves with

compassion?
