Center Workshop Level 1: Complicated Grief

Through a combination of didactic content, experiential exercises and group discussions, you will learn how to:

  • Evaluate the concept of psychological immunity (i.e. natural adaptive process) as it relates to loss and grief
  • Identify natural facilitators of adaptation
  • Analyze characteristics of acute and integrated grief and consider how they are related to each other
  • Identify impediments (i.e.”grief complications”) of adaptation
  • Conduct an assessment to determine if a client is suffering from CG
  • Recognize similarities and differences between CG, PTSD and MDD
  • Evaluate the approach used in CGT to resolve complications and facilitate the natural adaptive process
