This three day program is a strength-based, child-focused model, which includes age-based support groups facilitated by trained grief specialists. The program will facilitate icebreakers, confidence-building activities and other activities designed to facilitate trust, expression, and interaction among them.

To be eligible for this camp, the child must be between the ages of 7-17(18 if still in high school), and experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver.

Grief evolves with each developmental stage a child reaches, so learning to manage grief in a healthy way is important at every age. Whether the child’s loss was ten years or three months ago, encourage them to attend - you may have an opportunity to change the course of their life.

To register a child for camp:

  1. Create a My Comfort Zone account by clicking Register Now at the top of this page. Complete the application questions and select which campers to add to the regional registration list.
  2. A Comfort Zone Camp representative will contact you when a space becomes available at an upcoming camp to schedule a phone interview. The interview includes a discussion regarding your child's loss history, current grief expression, and his/her personality and interests.
  3. Once the interview is complete, an Intake Coordinator will contact you to discuss your camper’s’ acceptance.

If you have additional questions about the camp dates, the registration process, or have trouble logging into your account, feel free to contact us at VA@comfortzonecamp.org.
