The Training:
The training will be experiential in nature and will help therapists gain knowledge and skills in treating clients who have experienced trauma and may have symptoms of PTSD. There will be both teaching of concepts and learning practical tools and techniques that therapists can apply in their own practices.

Who is Invited:
Any therapist who is interested in learning more about trauma and/or becoming better equipped to work with people who have experienced trauma will be a good fit for this program.

What is TSP:
The name Trauma Stage Processing comes from the moments or “stages” experienced during a trauma. Some stages may last only a split second or they may overlap with others. When trauma, either chronic or acute is severe enough, there are enduring characteristics that a person often develops to cope with the way they have come to see the world and themselves. These characteristics correspond to the stages experienced during the original trauma. Trauma Stage Processing helps to illuminate the stage where the person is stuck or is repeating, helps the person see the meaning they have made from that in their life, and to process the stages of the trauma releasing them from its detrimental effects. This processing changes the way the brain stores the material so that rational thinking improves, physiological anxiety releases, and new meaning emerges often bringing a sense of closure to the trauma.
